members from 147 countries. Every two years, the IGF organises the largest amateur
team competition in the world: The World Amateur Team Championships (WATC)

For the first time, there will be an equal number of both men’s and women’s teams, 36 teams playing for each trophy.
Dubai was chosen to host the 2023 WATC at Jumeirah Golf Estates, the same club host the DP World Tour Championship.
Historically, many of the world’s most elite golfers have taken part in WATC prior to progressing to a professional game.

The United Arab Emirates was chosen to host the 2023 World Amateur Team Championship at Abu Dhabi Golf Club, the same club that hosted 12 HSBC Golf Championships and the most recent Hero Cup Challenge.

A: Yes, both women and men play at Jumeirah Golf Estates Fire Course.

A: The 30th  women’s championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy will be held from 18th  to 21st  October and the 33rd  men’s championship for the Eisenhower Trophy from 25th  to 28th  October 2023.

A: Through Jumeirah Golf Estates directly, they will be more than happy to assist you with the scheduling of your visit and tee times.

A: No practice is permitted on the championship site (including the courses, practice ranges, short
game/practice putting areas, etc.) 30 days in advance of the first official scheduled practice round of
the first scheduled championship, unless a player is a member of that particular club. In accordance
with this regulation, practice will be allowed up until, and including, 18 th September 2023 at
Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Please note that each team will be permitted one practice round on the course during the two days
immediately before the championship.

Women’s: 16 th & 17 th October 2023
Men’s: 23 rd & 24 th October 2023

Captains meetings will take place at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

A: Each Championship will be 72 holes of stroke play. Teams are comprised of 2-3 players. In each 18-
hole round, the total of the two lowest scores by players of each Team constitutes the Teams score
for that round. The total of the two-player Team scores for the four rounds is the Team’s score for
the Championship. The Champion is the Team with the lowest such total score for 72 holes.
