Rayan Ahmed Leads UAE 18 & Under Team to Silver

(Gammarth, Tunisia) –  On September 27 – 29, 2024 Rayan Ahmed led the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Boys 18 & Under Team to the Silver Medal at the 2024 Pan Arab Ladies and Youth Golf Championships at The Residences Golf Course in Gammarth, Tunisia.

Rayan also took the Silver Medal in the Boys 18 & Under Individual Category shooting rounds of 71-70-74 for a championship total of 215, 1-under-par. Mohammad Skaik was UAE’s second-counting scores’ for the UAE Team with rounds of 66-78-79. Skaik’s first round of 66 was the lowest round he recorded in a championship event, Skaik finished in Sixth Place in the Individual Category. Neyl Cherrat was the last player to represent the team while finishing in Ninth Place in the Individual Category.

The championships also hosted a Boys 16 & Under and Boys 13 & Under Divisions. Representing the UAE Boys 16 & Under Team were Mohammed Thabet, Abdualla Darwash, and Abdulla Salmeen. The UAE Boys 16 & Under Team finished in Sixth Place in the championships.

Morocco won the Gold Medal in the 18 and 13 & Under Divisions. Host country Tunisia won the Gold Medal in the Boys 16 & Under Division.

The 2024 Pan Arab Ladies and Youth Championships was the 23rd edition of the Boys 18 and 16 & Under Championships. Rated the top golf course in TunisiaThe Residences Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones II designed 18-hole championship course that played a good test for the junior golfers.

Traveling with the teams were EGF Officials, Secretary General Mr. Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director General Mr. Akram Skaik, and National Team Coaches Faycal Serghini and Samir Wallani.

Following the 2024 Ladies and Youth Pan Arab Championships, Vice-Chairman General Abdullah Al Hashmi said, “We are all extremely proud of our teams’ performance this past week. The hard work and dedication to the training paid off. Our program will use this as a springboard into the season. Although we are taking this time to celebrate and reflect we also know that there is a lot of work that still needs to be done. On behalf of Chairman His Excellency Shaikh Fahim Bin Sultan, the Federation would like to thank our coaches and administration. This success is a true team accomplishment.”
