UAE Ladies & Youth Golf Teams Travel to Tunisia to Participate in the Pan Arab Championships
Sara Ali and UAE Girls Under 16 Team Defend Gold
(Gammarth, Tunisia) – On September 23 – 28, 2024 the United Arab Emirates (UAE) national golf teams will travel to Tunisia to participate in the Ladies and Youth Pan Arab Championships at The Residences Golf Course in Gammarth, Tunisia.
The 2024 Pan Arab Ladies and Youth Championships will be the 23rd edition of the Boys Under 18 and Under 16-year-old championships as well as the 15th Ladies and 3rd Girls Under 16 championships. Playing for the UAE Ladies National Team will be Intissar Rich, Jamie Camero, and Faye AlBlooshi. Looking to defend the Gold Medal in the Girls Under 16 Championship will be Sara Ali, Aasiya Saleem, and Anca Mateiu. Sara Ali also captured the Gold in the Indidivcaul Category.
In the Boys Under 18 Division, Mohammed Skaik, Rayan Ahmed, and Neyl Cherrat will be representing the UAE and Mohammed Thabet, Abdualla Darwash, and Abdulla Salmeen will be representing in the Under 15-year-old division.
Rated the top golf course in Tunisia, The Residences Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones II designed 18-hole championship course that will test the level of the 13 countries from Arab nations and 103 players participating in these championships.
Traveling with the teams are EGF Officials, Secretary General, Mr. Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi, and Director General, Akram Skaik. National Team Coaches Faycal Serghini and Samir Wallani will be leading the way for the on-course preparations and training. Vice Chairmen General Abdullah Alhashmi will be joining the team for the closing ceremony and the Arab Golf Federation annual meetings.
General Abdullah Alhashmi had this to say leading up to the championship. “These are important championships. It will be a major milestone to see how we as a nation have developed over the past 12 months, especially in our youth development. All of our players have been training hard over the summer including a 3-week summer camp with our brothers and sisters in Morrocco. We are ready and we are excited.”
