Samawi, Rich, & Dadabhoy Top Off Season With EGF Order of Merit Championship Victories

(Al Ain, UAE) – On May 19th – 21st the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) held the 2023 EGF Order of Merit Championship at Al Ain Equestrian Shooting & Golf Club. Leading the way in the Men’s and Ladies’ Division and completing a strong season with convicting victories were Rami Samawi and Intissar Rick. Aayan Dadabhoy wins the Junior Division.

Finishing as the Runner-Up in the Men’s Division was Dominic Morton. Morton shot rounds of 72-77-69 for a total of 218, eight-under-par. Seven shots back from the leader and one shot back from second place Marcus Dutton finished in Third Place with a championship total of 219

Intissar Rich

Winning the Ladies’ Division by six strokes was Intissar Rich. Rich had a strong weekend with rounds of 72-72-68, 212 total, two-over-par. Intissar had this to say following the championship. “Thank you to the EGF and Al Ain Golf Club for hosting the championship this weekend. The first two days the wind was tough to play in but I scrambled well all weekend in order to win. The golf course was in great condition and it was fun to play with the best ladies in the EGF Order of Merit”.

Anca Mateiu was the Runner-Up in the Ladies’ Division. Mateiu shot rounds of 74-72-72 for a 218 total, eight-over-par. Rounding out the top-three, coming in Third Place was Jamie Camero. Camero shot rounds of 76-75-70 for a 221 total.

The Junior Division was played with the Girls and Boys golfers combined. This division was full of talent as a playoff decided the champion. Aayan Dadabhoy came out on top after the one-hole playoff against Rayan Ahmed. Dadabhoy and Ahmed both finished with a total score of 145, five-over-par.

Winning the Third-Place prize was Sandro Wulff with rounds 76-72 for a 150 total.

After the tournament, the EGF hosted an award ceremony where the winners of the EGF Order of Merit Championship and the winners of the EGF Order of Merit Season received their well-deserved prizes.
