PING Dubai Creek Ladies Amateur Open 2020
(Dubai, UAE) – On Friday, February 21st, 2020 we were delighted to once again hold the PING Dubai Creek Ladies Amateur Open here at DCGYC. As ever, we had a very strong field who turned up on the day determined to take home the spectacular maritime trophy displayed on the first tee.
The morning started chillily but, just like the competition, things soon started to heat up. Prevailing against the conditions and trumping the advances of her fellow competitors was Natali Gupta, who claimed the 2020 PING Dubai Creek Ladies Amateur Open with a fantastic -3, 68 gross. Natali’s round included four birdies and just one bogey, including a bogey-free front nine – very impressive indeed!
Finishing runner-up to Natali was Hannah Alan with a level par 71 and in third place was Hyeonji Kang with a +1, 72.
In the net division, Creek member, Retna Schepens took the victory with a steady -1, 70, followed closely by Janet Kim (71) and Glory Xavier (72).
We had two special events on the golf course this year, rewarding the very best shots of the tournament. Liang Wei Liu won the nearest the pin on the 8th hole, while Chantal El Chaib was nearest to the pin on the 14th hole.
After the prizegiving, Golf Operations Intern, Thomas Hall commented: “It is with great pleasure that we hold this tournament here at the Creek for another year and a huge thank you to those who have traveled so far to support it once more. Congratulations to all our winners today and especially to Natali for your stellar performance on the course today. A final thanks of course to our sponsors, Ping, and ProSports for their continued support and generous donations.”
