The highlight and round of the day for the March National Monthly Medal at Jebel Ali Golf Resort came from National Team member, Khalid Yousuf. Khalid broke the Amateur Course Record at Jebel Ali Golf Resort by firing a 4-under-par, 68 Gross Score. Khalid had six birdies, one eagle, and four bogies for 32 front nine and a 36 back nine, which will be a round that Khalid will certainly always remember.

Khalid Yoursuf had this to say about breaking the Amateur Course Record. “My putter was hot and I made a lot of putts from 10 to 20 feet. With the course playing short but the winds affecting a lot of shots, it was important to keep the ball in the fairway. The shot of the day came on the par five, 18th hole when I had 232 yards for my approach shot that I hit to 15 feet. I went on to make that putt for eagle and breaking the record. It feels great to shoot a 4-under-par round giving the Amateur Record to a UAE National.”

Awards were also given based on handicap with an A-Division (0-14 handicap) and B-Division (14-24 handicap) winners. Winning the A-Division Prize was Saleh Al Ameri with 38 Stableford Points. Hamad Al Medfa won the Division-B prize with 34 Stableford Points.

The event also had two “On Course Challenges” up for grabs. Taking home the Longest Drive Award was Saif Thabet. Winning the Nearest to the Pin Award was Khalid Mubarak Al Shamsi.
