There were two on-course competitions, a nearest the pin on the front 9 hole 6 was awarded to Deborah Chang of Emirates Golf Club with her shot finishing an impressive inch from the hole, a near miss for a hole in one. The second on-course competition, this time on the back 9 hole 17 was awarded to Anastasia Bakal from The Els Club Dubai.
There were three nett prizes available for the taking; finishing in third place with a nett 77, beating three other players to the post with her back 9 holes was Sheila McIlroy of Jumeirah Golf Estates. This was closely followed by Sara Engsig of the Emirates Golf Federation who carded a great nett 76. The winner of the nett category went to another Jumeirah Golf Estates member, Kuson Waimer, who shot a fantastic nett 73 despite feeling a little under the weather before teeing off.
Finally, this leads us onto the gross category; in third place a very credible 82 came from Hannah Mannion, also representing the EGF who clinched the position with a higher back 9 score. The gross runner up was awarded to Sahana Paravantavida (JGE) with a solid and steady 79. The winner of the Jumeirah Golf Estates 2017 Ladies Amateur Open gross title and main prize of the day (a signed Thomas Pieters pin flag) was awarded to the very deserving Deborah Chang (EGC) with a sublime round of 74, finishing 4 shots under her current handicap.
On behalf of Jumeirah Golf Estates and BMW AGMC, congratulations to all the prize winners and we thank you for sharing your day with us.
