2016 Titleist Emirates Junior Open
(Dubai, UAE) – The 2016 Titleist Junior Open welcomed 68 junior golfers to compete for the title on the Faldo course. Yaseen Le Falher from the Royal Golf Club Bahrain won the boys’ title with a fine score of 72, winning after a back-nine playoff. Zubair Firdaus from Jumeirah Golf Estates claimed second place, also with a score of 72 ahead of Emirates Golf Club’s own Arjun Gupta, who finished a commendable third, also on 72.
The girls’ championship was won by Emirates Golf Club’s Sahana Paravantavida who shot an excellent score of three under par 69 to claim the prize.
Net prizes were awarded to Advav Mohindra from Abu Dhabi City Golf Club who claimed the Boys Division A Best Net with a score of 68, and Ronan Smith from the Royal Golf Club Bahrain who claimed the Boys Division B Best Net with a superb score of 61. Girls’ net prizes were awarded to Emirates Golf Club’s Tatyana Mogire, who won the girls’ division with a great score of 65 net, narrowly beating Ailsa Brannock from Castle Douglas Golf Club in Scotland, who shot a 67 net.
On-course events on the day included nearest-the-pins on hole 12, which was won by Tatyana Mogire, hole 17 which was won by Ronan Smith, hole 2 which was won by Kevin McCarrick, and hole 8 which was won by Yaseen Le Falher.
