Mashreq Medal Championship Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club

(Dubai, UAE) – The October edition of the 2015 Mashreq Medal Championship took place this past weekend at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. The series has proved to be a great success since its introduction and the 2015 October edition was no exception, boasting another full field of competitors battling for glory and of course some all important order of merit points.

Mark Bishop got back to winning ways and claimed top honours in this month’s event after a solid round and 4 under par net 67. Mark not only claimed the trophy but also some valuable order of merit points. After being presented his prize Mark commented; “Despite the humid conditions, I was really pleased with my performance. I hit most of the greens in regulation and putting was made easier as the greens were in great condition. The monthly medal is a great event which is always well supported and one I look forward to playing again.”

In the Men’s A Division Adhip Shankar and Patrick Morrow also produced great performances on the day, however it was Shankar who prevailed by 3 shots with a fantastic 1 under par 70. The same 3 shot winning margin was also seen in the Men’s B Division with Ashok Kumar, who narrowly missed out on the overall prize by 1 shot, carding a superb 3 under par 68 swooping the winning prize. Jamal Bin Marghoob claimed the division’s runner-up prize with a solid level par 71.

Michael McGinley was almost without fault and carded a 2 over par round of 73 to pick up the Best Gross prize.

George Varghese finished with a 1 over par 72 to claim the Senior Division, whilst Glory Xavier produced a level par 71 to clinch the Ladies Division. Bilel Belaid, Adhip Shankar, Mark Jolliffe and Imran Qayyum all made birdies and were the 2’s club winners on the day.

After conducting the prize presentation, Dubai Creek’s Director of Golf, Stephen Hubner commented; “Thank you all for your support and participation again this month, I hope that you all enjoyed your games today.
